[Yeah. She knows exactly what he means.

Sighing a little, she slumps back in her chair and takes a long sip of her coffee.]

You know we can't tell them. Not even a hint of what's to come.

[dickmoves]

Don't you think I know that?

[ He rakes his hands through his hair. ] I know, I know... The last thing I want is to see either of them like how I left them.

[tryit]

Yeah...

[She's met up with them every now and then. But the amount of time spent hanging around with Teddy and Billy has vastly decreased since she started working with Clint. Things aren't as bad as they had been after... but there are just some things she'd happily move on from.]

You're not the only one.

[dickmoves]

Billy wants me to move in with them. Or near them. There's now ay I'm setting foot in that love-nest.

[tryit]

There's a reason I picked the floor below.

[dickmoves]

Thanks. [She says wryly, grinning at him just a little. Okay. So maybe she's missed him a little. But, let's be honest here. It would have been a whole lot easier for him to come up to New York for a visit rather than for all of them to wind up on this strange new planet.] So, any clue where you are going to live?

[dickmoves]

[ Sigh. Like it's a big problem. ] Next to them. Someone has to keep an eye on them! And I guess since I'm technically family, and older family at that, I'll just have to be the one.

[tryit]

How heroic of you.

[But she's teasing. It makes sense. She might not be related to either Billy or Teddy by blood, but they've become family to her regardless. There's no way she'd live in any other building.]

[dickmoves]

Anything else I should know about? Just while we're on the subject of the minefields that is our social lives.

[tryit]

[She briefly considers telling him that she's been working as a superhero again. It's going to come out eventually, either here or back home. Clint's not exactly very good at keeping a low profile.

But it's hard to find the words. And, in the end, she shakes her head.]

You? What exactly have you been doing since leaving New York?

[dickmoves]

What do you think I've been doing? [ He never stopped. Well, he did. For a while, for Billy - not that he'd admit it in so many words, but he did. The spandex was set aside and he focused on his twin needing it to stay there until he couldn't take the Kaplan's affectionate parenting and Billy's sadness and took off to pursue his calling.

It's really hard without them. ] I tried going back to being a civ. Keeping a low profile, doing odd jobs to get some cash - and seriously, money is not a problem for me anymore - but it doesn't work. I get bored and before I know it, I'm running into a burning building ten or twelve times to get some lucky assholes out alive.

[tryit]

[She feels a stab of jealousy. He can admit to it so easily. But Tommy doesn't have to face Billy and Teddy on a semi-regular basis. He left New York.

Sighing,]

Me too. I mean - in addition to school? Clint talked me into working with him.

[dickmoves]

Clint, huh. [ As far as mentors you can't really go wrong with Clint.

But he gets Serious. Just for a second. ] Hey. That reminds me. Have you seen Eli lately?

[tryit]

[She'd agree with that. Most of the time. No matter what some of the other Avengers (hey there, exes of Clint Barton) might think.

But at the mention of Eli, she shrugs a little uncomfortably. It's been a while. A long while.]

Not since he moved to Arizona. He doesn't exactly come back to visit or anything.

[dickmoves]

[ Yeah.

He grabs a sugar packet and pours it out on his hand. He doesn't really like to think about the group splitting up, instead he covers it up with making an artful mess.

Which is actually mostly a mess. ]

Somebody's been going around dressed in his colors. They're almost exact, but it's definitely not Eli. I was staking him out with a friend. So, that's all my current news.

[tryit]

[Her eyes flicker downward at the mess being made with the sugar. But the topic at hand keeps her from rolling her eyes or making any comments.

Things really didn't end well with Eli. Not that they were ever really together. Or that it should still bother her all this time later. But it kind of does. No wonder she gets along so well with Clint. When it comes to the whole relationship thing, they both kind of suck, don't they?

Finally, she leans forward and rests her head on a hand.]

That whole red, white, and blue thing isn't all that uncommon. Eli wasn't exactly all that original when he picked it.

[Hell, were any of them?]
