4th Shot [video]
Alien planet or not, there's no way I'm spending another Thanksgiving alone. I know I'm not the only American trapped in this place. And I can't be the only person here with a thing or two to be thankful for.
[It had been one of her favorite holidays as a child. Her mother had reminded her every year just how much she had to be thankful for growing up in the Bishop family, never needing to want for anything. They'd spend the day in one of the soup kitchens her mother helped to run and serve meals to those in need. She never complained, even as a little girl.
By the time they came home at the end of the afternoon, it seemed like Christmas had come early. Food would be spread out on the dining room table and her father would actually be home from the office in time to spend a meal with the rest of them. Eleanor would insist they all eat dinner together, It hadn't been just the Bishop family that night, but their cook and nanny and housekeeper. Everyone together, one big family.
It had been one of the first traditions to go after her mother died. Thanksgiving had become a day to slave away in the soup kitchens, nothing more.
Kate takes a deep breath, looking pointedly at the camera. If a flicker of sadness and longing crosses her face, it's in your imagination. There's no regrets here. Not one whatsoever. Life is too short to let those emotions keep dictating your every action.]
So, guys, what do you say? I've never exactly prepared my own meal but it can't be that hard. Thursday, 5 pm, my place. Bring whatever you want. I'll provide the bird.

... You've kissed him too?!

[Her blue eyes go wide and all she can do is sit there for a moment and stare agape at the journal. How...? What...?]
No!

[Hey! Between what Li'l Loki said, and what Kurt himself said on the ride, Wanda doesn't know who Kurt's been macing on. And as it turns out, Wanda is the jealous type. Who knew?
Jealous over a guy who may or may not even like her. Good lord. How. Sad.]

But the conversation's reached a standstill and she reaches up with one hand to scratch at the back of her neck. This kind of teasing makes her miss Cassie a little. She used to be so good at it, keeping the conversation flowing even when Kate hated it.]
...yeah.

That, and Wanda's never really crushed on anyone before. It's a big scary feeling, and she's got a lot of baggage attached to it thanks to her family. She wants to talk about it. But she doesn't know how.
Which, given the conversation so far, should be obvious. The "doesn't know how part" at least.]
. . .
[Ahh, the awkward silence. How good of you to return.]
... so. Cranberries?
[Locked]
[Right. There had been a whole point to this conversation, hadn't there? She forces a bit of smile on her face.]
Do you know how to make them?
[Locked]
She is glad the conversation is back on less heinously embarrassing topics... and also that she hasn't gotten herself uninvited, somehow.]

[Because in Kate's opinion, anything can be made with the proper instructions.]
That's what I plan to do.
[Locked]
... Mm. I'll... figure something out, then.

But the reaction does get her to pause for a minute.]
There ought to be a lot in the library.
[Locked]
... Mmm. I'll... just ask a librarian, then, I suppose. ... We-- do have one? In Luceti? Right?

Hmmmn. I--er. I suppose. If you're going anyway. [Wanda didn't really see a way out of it, without appearing rude.]
