[Okay, kidnappings on top of kidnappings? Seriously? To say that wasn't cool would definitely be the understatement of the year. One she wasn't going to touch with a ten foot pole. It would, she told herself as she trekked from the edge woods to her building, be best to just forget the whole matter. Maybe pretend that the past month was just something out of a crazy, deranged nightmare.

Because, holy shit, had she really been dating Clint Barton?!? God, was it too much to just wish it was all a dream? But no. Those stupid purple wings had been there when she had woken up in the woods (again!). And plucking a feather from the wings had hurt far too much.

First stop, shower. Second stop, Billy and Teddy's apartment to play the good friend card and announce her return in person. Thirdly? Something - anything - to blow off some steam.

Later that day, Kate can be found at the Battledome shooting arrow after arrow at stationary targets. And missing every time. When she's finally had enough, she makes her way over to the coffee shop. It's there that she takes out the journal and begins to talk:]

Someone tell me they've considered revolting. Because I'm starting to get really tired of this place and our damned keepers. Y'know, I don't care if I'm preaching to the choir, but shifts seriously suck. Actually, everything here kind of sucks right now.

How long do these kidnapping effects last anyway?

[Because not hitting the target from five feet away? She hasn't been that bad since she was a child. Forget about the fact that maybe, just maybe, she shouldn't have met those robots that came for her with explosive arrows. Call it habit. Or something.]

Actually, forget that. If it's more than a day, I really don't want to know right now. Someone want to go dancing tonight?

... I've never heard any responses for things like alternate universes. ... In fact, I think this is the first I've really heard of them... Y'know. Outside of TV.

[Trust her. Time travel, space travel, alternate universes? Sadly commonplace on her Earth.]

Y'know, if we're going to do this nightclub thing, we might as well get started. Want to come check out Cloud Nine with me?

[Five or so minutes later, Kate's waiting in front of the downstairs entrance to Cloud Nine. She's dressed in civies, blue jeans and white shirt with a knee length purple trench coat. A pair of purple sunglasses sit on her head, pushing bangs out of her face. As she waits, she leans against the go, taking the opportunity to get in some people watching.]

[Wanda shows up just a little bit later, looking around as she walks. She's in her standard red-and-black vest-pants combo, with all her jewelry clinking lightly as she walks. She tilts her head seeing Kate waiting.]

... Kate? [This is you? Yes?]

[There's no mistaking Wanda. Also no mistaking where Billy and Tommy have gotten a fair share of their looks from. Wow. Yeah, if Kate thought they looked similar from just an image on the journal, it's nothing compared to real life.

Hearing her name, she pushes off the wall and walks over. A hand is offered.]

Yeah. Nice to meet you in person, Wanda.

[Wanda takes the hand that's offered. She doesn't have a very good handshake; it's too loose in the wrist and too tight in the fingers and just sort of unpracticed. She doesn't usually shake hands with people, though if offered she's just fine accepting.]

Hi. ... Yeah. Nice to meet you. [She smiles, though shyly, before looking up at the building.] So this... is the place?

[She nodded, turning to glance back at the building. It really didn't look like much on the outside. But the restaurant on the first floor wasn't half bad.]

I haven't been upstairs yet. Checked the door, though. There's no lock.

... That's good. Not-- that locks have usually provided much of an obsticle for me, anyway... [She mused aloud.] Should we-- head up? See what... we have to work with?

[Good and helpful for them. Idiotic if this was any other place. Seriously, is there no theft in this entire town?

But she keeps those thoughts to herself as she walked over and pushed open the door. Kate nods in the direction of the stairs.] After you?

Thanks...! [Wanda is, apparently, a bit more shy in person.] So... you like dancing?

[She nods as she follows behind Wanda.]

It's a good way to let off steam, y'know? And definitely a whole lot less dangerous than alternatives.

[Reaching the top of the steps, she tries the door, which, as promised is open.] ... I dunno. I suppose that depends on the alternatives.

She joined Wanda on the top ledge, walking over to the knob and turning it back and forth a few times. Yep, definitely lose.]

What kind of alternatives do you have in mind?

That are-- less dangerous than dancing? ... Meditation, I suppose. ... I should probably warn you that I sometimes accidentally hex while I dance. Which-- would make dancing more dangerous than it... really needs to be.

[She can't help it. The words are out of her mouth as she chuckles and says,] I wonder if Billy ever does that.

[Thankfully, she's already started to move into the room, finally finding a light switch on the wall to illuminate the room.]

Probably not. ... He seems much more... In... control... [She trails off as the lights snap on, showing what Wanda would consider a very classy dance hall.]

... This place is nice...! Why don't people use it?! [Sure, it wasn't what she was used to, with New York clubs and all, but it was still nice!]

[She's not certain she'd agree. Sure, it looks posh, but also a bit antiquated. Especially when you compare it to some of the clubs she's gone to in New York. Wrinkling her nose a little, she walks over to one of the green booths and pokes at the fabric.

Hmm.]

I have no idea. [She turns to face Wanda, smiling confidently.] Don't get me wrong, I love vintage. But we can definitely do better.

...Better? How? I mean-- It's not exactly what I was expecting, but-- there's plenty of space for dancing...?

It's all about the decor.

Ever get a chance to go out when you were back in New York?

I few times. ... They were nothing like this, though. ... For one thing, there were more-- lights. Flashing. ... But I figure we could, ah, install those...

There's no actual monetary system in place here. [Bright, bright grin.] I'm thinking sky's the limit.

True...! [She looks up at the celing, now imagining a sky-light. That could be cool]

... What about you? What-- kind of clubs did you go to?
